Nye's "Sweet Lou" Snider: crooning at the keys for 45 years
10,000 Fresh Voices | KFAI
Think of Nye's Polonaise Room in Northeast Minneapolis and you're likely to conjure up a swanky supper club, piano bar and polka lounge. Opened in 1950, Nye's has been around for more than six decades, and for most of that time, "Sweet Lou" Snider has been at the keys, leading patrons in standards and pop tunes. Lou retired in early 2011, after 45 years as Nye's piano woman. KFAI's Marya Morstad caught up with Lou to reminisce about her reign.
