MN Spoken Word Association Celebrates 10 Years
10,000 Fresh Voices | KFAI
In 2001, the Minnesota Spoken Word Association (MNSWA) burst onto the scene with Singers of Daybreak, the first-ever spoken word conference. Today MNSWA nurtures young spoken word artists through programs in schools and universities, as well as many stand-alone events. As this grassroots organization approaches its 10-year anniversary, artistic directors e.g. Bailey and Shá Cage reflect on the accomplishments and direction of this remarkable Minnesota organization.
