Thanks to the MN Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, at 91.7 KAXE in Grand Rapids we have access to lots of programming from other independent community radio stations across the state. The Phenology Show has been on KAXE for over 26 years and we've been airing pieces from WTIP in Grand Marias regularly on the program, and it's done nothing but enhance the experience. Molly Hoffman is a volunteer producer at WTIP. Each week, she takes a look at a different bird from the northwoods. I love this kind of production, because you just can't fake something like this — actually going out into the woods with a microphone and some knowledge and recording the experience. It is so real. Scott Hall, host of the KAXE Morning Show says this ability to share this program, "Enables us to take listeners into another part of the northwoods, to experience the northwoods first-hand (or, first-ear, hehehe) — it broadens our coverage of the nature in our lives."
