Doug MacRostie, the host of Centerstage MN at KAXE in Grand Rapids, highlights a musician or band on his show every week. So he hears a lot of music.

Doug says the music of Wahwahtay Benais is not to be missed. And he's right.

I listened to the interview and songs here:

Benais is a hip-hop artist from Leech Lake Reservation. In his songs, he raps about life on the rez and dives into the history of American Indian. You can listen to "Indigenous Holocaust" on Centerstage MN.

The music video is here:

Wahwahtay Benais tells Doug there is no album yet, but there is a mix tape.

Hopefully, an album will be forthcoming soon.
